Effects of hazardous chemicals on marine ecosystems

　Recognizing the importance of environmental quality, the protection of marine organisms and food safety, MERI has conducted nationwide research on the accumulation of dioxins in domestic fishery products and the effects of endocrine disruptors on marine organisms.  We have also developed biological monitoring methods that utilize the accumulation characteristics of indicator organisms to clarify marine pollution by chemical substances.
　We also participate in research and development projects for new standard protocols for toxicity assessment.
