Central Research Laboratory Kashiwazaki Station, Kashiwazaki-shi, Niigata |
|
|
Our Central Research Laboratory Kashiwazaki Station is located on the coast of Kashiwazaki-shi, Niigata, adjacent to the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power station (NPS) operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. The laboratory has rearing experimental facilities that utilize the seawater that the power plant draws in and the thermal effluents that are discharged. Using these facilities, we evaluate changes in the marine environment and the effects of chemicals and other substances on marine organisms by conducting experiments. There is an Exhibition Hall that displays research results describing the impact of the thermal effluents discharged from the power plant on marine organisms.
